Note 5 Email App Not Working Properly After Marshmallow Update
Problem: After OTA upgrade to Android 6.0.1, the pre installed email app don’t working properly. I use an exchange account with certificate. After update the email account works for 4-5 hours and stops synchronise with the server. I tried with cleaning data and cache, removing of the account and adding again. reinstalling the certificate .. And the same result-email synchronises for several hours, but stops. Maybe there is a security issue after Marshmallow update – always on the top stays notification for possible network tracking – it’s about the certificate. Help pls.
Solution: First make sure that auto sync data is enabled in your device. To do this Go to settings – Data usage- Menu- Auto Sync Data. Regarding the network may be monitored warning that you are getting this is most likely caused by the certificate that you installed in your device. If you are sure that this is a trusted certificate then you can manually move the certificate from the user list/directory to the system list/directory of your phone.
If the issue still persists after doing the above steps then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This is a highly recommended procedure that needs to be done whenever issues arise on a device after a software update.
Note 5 Does Not Stay In Silent Or Vibrate After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Just upgraded to Marshmallow from Sprint. I had a smooth transition but I have one issue. When I set my ringer to mute or vibrate, after about 5 minutes or so it switches back to full ringer. I will reset it to silent or vibrate and it will happen again. So I restart my device, set it to silent or vibrate and it happens again. Any suggestions? Before the Marshmallow update I didn’t have this problem. Thanks!
Related problem: I finally got the marshmallow update yesterday and did the install which I’m still learning but I’ve now noticed that I’ve lost the mute function on my phone. Due to work related issues I keep my phone on mute 24/7 but since doing the update the phone switches from mute to full volume setting on its on at random intervals. I’ve had my phone since its release last year and never had this issue until I did the software update. Can you please give me an idea to solve this issue before it starts to affect my job?
Solution: Several other phone owners who updated to Marshmallow have also experienced this same issue. It’s not yet clear what causes this as the troubleshooting steps varies. What is known though is that it happens just right after the Marshmallow update.
To troubleshoot this issue follow the steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still persists.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone. This deletes the temporary data in your device which could be a factor that is causing this issue.
- Start your phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then a third party app could be causing this problem. Find out what app thi is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This is a recommended procedure to be done if issues occur right after a software update. What this accomplishes is that it deletes any old software data that could still be in the phone that’s causing the problem.
Note 5 Air Command Not Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Hi, After i upgraded the android from lollipop to marshmallow the air command does not work and under the s pen in setting it is disabled as i cannot tap on it I have tried clearing the cache of air command and force stopping it but it just doesn’t work. I’d appreciate it very much if you help me. Thanks for your support.
Solution: Several other device owners are also having this same issue right after the software update. While this appears to be a bug in the update which should be resolved by a software patch you should try troubleshooting this issue if it gets resolved on your end. What you need to do is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. This action delete any remnant data from the old software version that may still be in your device and is causing this problem. If the issue still occurs after performing this step then the best thing to do right now is to wait for another update.
Note 5 Can’t Refresh Facebook Feed After Marshmallow Update
Problem: After updating to 6.0.1 i can’t refresh my facebook feed. First i have to disable the app as it comes pre installed so can’t uninstall it and then have to enable it again to get it work properly. After updating i can’t get into my skype account via skype app as it keeps coming back to sign in page. And some of my apps like finger security which i use to lock my other apps keeps acting weird.
Solution: Since the several apps are having issues right after the update I suggest you perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.
- Make sure your phone is connected to a stable Internet connection. If possible check if the issue still occurs when you phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network or by using your mobile data.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Can’t Open Messages App After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Updated to marshmallow today and now I’m unable to open my stock and a 3rd party messaging app. Both apps cause the phone to freeze and restart. I’m concerned that my messages are deleted and I have some very important messages that I need. What am I to do?
Solution: Try starting your phone in Safe Mode then check if you are able to access your stock messaging app from here. If the issue does not occur in this mode I suggest you backup your messages or any personal data that you have stored in your phone. Try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app in this mode. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem still persists then go ahead and wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
If the above steps fail then proceed with a factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data first before doing this.
Note 5 Connection To Wi-Fi Not Strong After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Connection to wifi not strong. Unable to download or browse internet on wifi connection. All devices have been restarted and connection shows strength but slow, lags. Happened after upgrade to Marshmallow.
Solution: Try deleting the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then connect to it again. You should also check if the same issue occurs if your phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network. If the problem occurs for any Wi-Fi network your phone connects to then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
