As the name implies, IMEI or International Mobile Equipment Identity serves as the primary (unique) key used to identify your device. It comprises of a series of numbers hard-coded into your device hardware to prevent theft.
Here's how to access this information on your device via Android System:
1. Tap Apps from the Home screen.
2. Tap Settings to continue.
3. Scroll to and tap About device or About phone.
Note: You may need to tap the System tab and then tap About device to view this information. Menu options may vary between carriers and device model.
4. Next, tap Status.
5. Tap IMEI information.
In some devices, the IMEI number can be found directly in the Status screen.
From the Status screen, you should see a 15-digit number, that is the IMEI number for your device, along with other IMEI information.
Other ways to obtain the IMEI information of your device are through the packaging/sticker and via service code. Review the package details to view it. Often times, these numbers are printed on a sticker. Meanwhile, if you opt to get the IMEI using a service code, simply dial *#06# on the Phone app or dialer.
